Olongapo City allows children to go malling, play basketball under Alert Level 2
OLONGAPO CITY — Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. on Monday issued an executive order easing more quarantine restrictions in the city under COVID-19 Alert Level 2 as the city continues to see a downward trend in virus spread.
Part of the more relaxed health protocols was allowing parents or guardians to bring their children to malls, restaurants, amusement parks and other establishments, Paulino said.
The mayor also permitted children to play basketball in areas that could be monitored by village officials but are still subject to approval.
Earlier, Paulino also set a shorter curfew from 12 midnight until 4 a.m. Previously, the city’s curfew was from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
He said all establishments permitted to operate under Alert Level 2, the second lowest alert level, were also allowed to accommodate 50-percent of its capacity indoors and 70-percent for outdoors.
As of Tuesday, the city’s active cases further dropped to 33 after recording zero new infections for two straight days.
