Man selling gun to secret cop nabbed in Zambales
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Police arrested a man selling an unlicensed gun during a buy-bust operation Sunday evening in this town.
Col. Romano Cardiño, provincial police director, said Jayson de Guzman, 37, of Barangay Santiago, tried to sell an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver to an undercover agent and was immediately apprehended.
The suspect was detained at this town’s police station and faces a charge for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Cardiño reminded the public that unlicensed guns, or those with expired licenses, are considered loose firearms.
“Anyone who has either expired license or unlicensed firearms can coordinate with the nearest police station. Otherwise, the [police] will be forced to apply for a search warrant and confiscate the firearms with corresponding charges against the violator,” Cardiño said in a statement.
