MANILA, Philippines — Some 2.8 million doses of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Monday night.
The doses, which were procured by the government, arrived via plane at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City at around 7:30 p.m., according to a livestream of the state-run PTV.
The doses were composed of 1.4 million doses of Sputnik V’s Component I doses and 1.4 million of Component II doses.
President Rodrigo Duterte personally witnessed the arrival of the vaccines, along with Interior Secretary Eduardo Año and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
