MANILA, Philippines — An additional 2,605 COVID-19 infections brought the total confirmed cases in the country to 2,803,213, the Department of Health (DOH) said Sunday.
The new cases represent 5.2 percent of the 48,450 individuals tested.
The DOH also recorded 3,901 additional recoveries, raising the number of patients who have recuperated to 2,725,257.
The number of active cases was also placed at 33,526. This accounts for 1.2 percent of the total cases of COVID-19.
Of the total number of patients now suffering from the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, 66 percent have mild cases, 5.7 percent are asymptomatic, 15.41 percent are moderate, 9 percent are severe, and 3.8 percent are critical.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the country has climbed to 44,430 as the DOH logged 191 more deaths.
The DOH said two laboratories were not able to submit their data in the total tests conducted on November 5, the DOH said. These laboratories contribute, on average, 0.5 percent of samples tested and 0.5 percent of positive individuals.
The health agency added that 13 duplicates were also removed from the total case count — of which 9 were recoveries.
“Moreover, 151 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.
