Over P180,000 worth of shabu seized in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – More than P180,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) was confiscated from a drug suspect in San Narciso town in Zambales province on Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

Police Colonel Romano Cardiño, Zambales police chief, identified the suspect as Rosalie Macapagal, 31, a resident of Barangay (village) Calapacuan in Subic town, who is also included in the province’s drug watchlist.

Cardiño said that Macapagal was arrested at about 9:20 p.m. by personnel of San Narciso police after she sold shabu to an undercover agent in Barangay Siminublan.

Seized from her were 39 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with estimated weight of 29.69 grams worth around P181,492.

The suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to San Narciso police station for documentation while appropriate charge for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being readied against the suspect.
