Generally fair Sunday weather in PH except Eastern Visayas due to LPA — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines will have generally fair weather on Sunday except in Eastern Visayas which will have scattered rains due to a low pressure area (LPA), the national weather bureau said.

The shallow LPA was spotted in the vicinity of Tanauan, Leyte at 3 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

“Posible rin po na in the coming days ay mag-dissipate na lamang itong shallow low pressure area,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

(It is possible that in the coming days, the shallow low pressure area will dissipate.)

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas.

Luzon, including Metro Manila, the rest of Visayas, and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers brought by the northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, no gale warning is raised over the country’s seaboards.

“Para naman po sa kondisyon ng ating baybaying dagat, wala ho tayong nakataas na gale warning. Malaya pong makakalayag ‘yung mga kababayan nating mangingisda o ‘yung may maliliit na sasakyang pandagat, pwede po sila pumalaot,” Bulquerin said.

(For our seaboards’ condition, we do not have any gale warning raised. Our fisherfolk and those with small vessels may venture out at sea.)
