LUCENA CITY – Four family members, including two children, were killed inside their home in Barangay Banabahin Ilaya, Lopez, Quezon Thursday in an alleged revenge against a family member, police said.
Senior Police Officer 4 Raul Paraiso, Lopez police investigator, identified the victims as sisters Teresita Osana, 56, and Victoria Osana, 40, a deaf-mute; and maternal siblings Kim Zyrene Esquerra, 11, and Saint Jeric Osana, 6, grandson of Teresita.
The bloodied bodies of the victims who all bore stab wounds were found inside their residence at around 8:45 a.m. by a carpenter who was about to start his work at the house, Paraiso said in his report.
The suspect fled on foot as the neighbors did not notice any vehicle in the area at the time of the incident, he said.
Paraiso said the parents of the children were both in Manila attending to their livestock business when the crime happened.
Teresita’s son, Ricardo Osana, father of Jeric and stepfather of Kim, pointed to a certain “Oding” as the suspect, according to the police investigator.
He said Ricardo told the police that “Oding” had allegedly threatened him after a business related altercation between the two in December 2011.
Since then, the suspect allegedly also sent death threats through text messages to Ricardo and his business financier in Manila.
Supt. Sergio Vivar, Lopez police chief, however said their investigators were still in going through the list of possible suspects. “We learned that Ricardo has lots of enemies,” he said over the phone Friday.
