4 killed, 2 hurt in Camarines Sur shooting

LEGAZPI CITY — Four persons were killed while two minors were wounded in a shooting incident in Milaor town in Camarines Sur province on Friday afternoon, police said.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Louie de la Peña, chief of community affairs development unit of the Camarines Sur police, said the slain victims were identified as Romeo De Leon, 72; Samuel Coabilla, 21; Ruby Britanico, 9; and Gabby John Britanico, 6.

The wounded victims were Noel Agliones, 9 and Haygis Britanico, 7. Most of the victims were relatives.

De la Peña said initial investigation revealed that the still unknown gunman entered their house in Barangay (village) Tarusanan at around 5:45 p.m. and shot the victims using a M16 rifle.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said a manhunt operation was launched against the suspect who escaped after the incident.

Police have yet to identify the motive behind the attack, Calubaquib added.
