Fair weather across PH except in Mimaropa, Western Visayas due to LPA

Most parts of the country are expected to have a generally fair weather throughout the weekend, save for Mimaropa and Western Visayas as the low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring isolated rain showers in the coming days.

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country are expected to have a generally fair weather throughout the weekend, save for Mimaropa and Western Visayas as the low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring isolated rain showers in the coming days.

Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed that the LPA was last seen 175 kilometers south southeast of Coron, Palawan.

Pagasa said that they are not expecting the LPA to intensify as a tropical cyclone, as it may dissipate once it crosses the landmass of Palawan.  However, cloud bands surrounding the LPA would cause cloudy skies and rain showers.

Aside from Mimaropa and Western Visayas, widespread rains are not expected in other areas.  However, there is also a chance of isolated rains in other areas come Saturday, because the temporary weakening of the northeast monsoon or amihan would allow warm winds to enter the country.

For Saturday, isolated rains may be felt over Northern and Central Luzon.  Temperatures in Tuguegarao may fall to 22 to 32 degrees Celsius, Laoag with 21 to 24 degrees, Legazpi and Puerto Princesa with 26 to 32 degrees, and Tagaytay with 22 to 30 degrees.

Metro Manila on the other hand would have something around 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.  However, Pagasa expects temperatures to go down again starting Monday, with the amihan taking effect again.

For Visayas and Mindanao, weather would be generally fair also, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Tacloban, 24 to 33 degrees in Cebu, 26 to 32 degrees in Tacloban, 24 to 30 degrees in Cagayan de Oro, 23 to 34 degrees in Zamboanga, and 24 to 33 degrees in Davao.

No gale warning has been raised across the archipelago, which means fisherfolk and small boat operators can move freely over the country.  Also, Pagasa does not expect any tropical cyclones to enter the country in the next two to three days.
