Mayor Edquid of Candelaria, Zambales dies at 64

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Candelaria town Mayor Napoleon Edquid passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, at the age of 64, people close to him have confirmed.

But Edquid’s family has yet to announce the official cause of his death.

On Oct. 21, the mayor announced that he contracted COVID-19, asking people who came in contact with him to undergo testing. It was also his last Facebook post.

Edquid was serving his last term at the time of his death. He filed his certificate of candidacy for the position of provincial board member in the 2022 elections.
