ANGELES CITY—Only 86 of 0.59 percent of the 15,677 police officers in Central Luzon remained unvaccinated against COVID-19, data from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Health Service showed.
As of Wednesday, Nov. 3, the health service said 12,023 police officers under PRO3 and 2,442 under the regional support units have been vaccinated fully, while 15,584 or 99.91 percent of the total 15,677 police officers in the region have received their first doses.
Col. Soledad Elefanio, PRO3 public information officer, said some police officers in Central Luzon have requested not to be vaccinated due to physical and medical conditions and religious beliefs.
“Some are pregnant or have physical conditions, while others chose not to be vaccinated because of issues related to their religion,” she said in a text message.
The regional health service said 12,749 police officers received their vaccination from the local governments, where they were assigned, while 2,837 were vaccinated by the Regional Medical and Dental Unit at Camp Julian Olivas in San Fernando
