MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) may issue show-cause orders to local government units (LGUs) who fail to submit their vaccination records every day, Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said Thursday.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año recently said that 30 percent of LGUs are not consistent in uploading their vaccination data.

“Dahil base po doon sa ating polisiya sa National Vaccine Operations Center, at the end of the day ay kailangan po nare-report nila ‘yung nababakunahan nila sa VORS o Vaccine Operating Reporting System,” Malaya explained during the Laging Handa briefing.

According to Malaya, the problem in the country’s immunization rollout is vaccine hesitancy and vaccine preference even as the supply is currently sufficient.
