FARM CARETAKER SHOOTS MAN
A 23-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded when he and an 18-year-old friend entered a farm in barangay Awuhaw, Toledo City, southern Cebu.
Jano Villarin got a graze wound on the forehead.
Police said the suspect in the shooting, Emilio Canillo, is the farm caretaker.
Police said Villarin and and Dante Tumarong entered the farm around 7 p.m. last Wednesday.
The caretaker fired his improvised shotgun then fled.

BURGLARS STRIKE IN TALISAY
While house owners were asleep, thieves broke in and stole valuables in barangay Linao, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said Joubert Roma lost cash, a laptop, cell phohe and other items.
Roma said he and his family were asleep when thieves struck past midnight.
Roma said he discovered the burglary around 5 a.m.
The thieves entered the house by destroying one of the windows.

WANTED MAN FALLS
A MAN considered by police the fifth most wanted person in Bohol province was arrested in Mindanao last Monday.
Ranil Pahit was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CDIG-7) in New Corella, Davao del Norte.
Police said Pahit is facing charges for two counts of sexual abuse charges.
The man was accused of raping a girl several years ago in Bohol.
He denied the charge, saying the girl’s uncle fabricated the allegations against him.
An P80,000 bail was recommended for Pahit’s temporary liberty.
An arrest warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Dionisio Calibo Jr. in Loay, Bohol.

FARMER SHOT, HURT
A FARMER was shot repeatedly by a friend who got upset after his corn farm was ravaged by the victim’s cow in barangay Kahumayan, Danao City, northern Cebu.
Jemerito Tolo survived the attack. He was rushed to the Danao District Hospital with gunshot wounds on the right arm, thigh, chest, and right foot.
Police said Tolo pastured his cow near the corn farm of Ananias Calderon who lost his temper after discovering the damage caused by the cow.
Tolo was about to get his cow past 7 p.m. last Wednesday when he was attacked by the farmer, said police.
Barangay tanods later arrested Calderon in his house in sitio Portland.
