MANILA, Philippines — The national government is aiming to administer one million to 1.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses per day starting November 20, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Wednesday.

In a taped public briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte aired on Wednesday morning, Galvez said the government also aims to administer at least 15 million vaccine doses before the end of November.

To achieve this, additional vaccination sites in malls, universities, schools, gyms, camps, and function halls of different government agencies would be used, he said.

The government is also eyeing to fully vaccinate against COVID-19 at least 90% of teachers, students, and school personnel.

It also aims to fully vaccinate at least 70% of senior citizens, Galvez added.

Health workers in hospitals should also have booster shots by the end of November, he said.
