Miss Universe PH Gomez asks Cebuanos for support ahead of pageant in December

CEBU CITY — Miss Universe Philippines Beatriz Luigi Gomez has asked for support and prayers from Cebuanos as she prepares for the international pageant in December this year.

Gomez, a Cebu City resident, arrived here on Tuesday, November 2, after winning the Miss Universes Philippines last September.

She made a courtesy call with Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and acting Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros at the City Hall.

“To my Cebuano brothers and sisters, thank you very much for your support. I hope that you will continue to support me until the Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel. Thank you,” said Gomez after exchanging pleasantries with Cebu City officials.

“Please pray that we will win, the Philippines, and Cebu especially in the competition,” she added.

Rama, for his part, said the city government would help Gomez in whichever way they could, including financial support.

He, however, did not disclose yet the amount they will give to the Cebuana beauty queen for the pageant in Israel.
