Olongapo City’s active COVID-19 cases drop to lowest in 8 months

OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city dropped further to 60, its lowest in the last eight months, local data showed on Monday, Nov. 1.

No new infections were recorded on the same day, the fourth time since Oct. 18 that the city posted no new COVID-19 cases in a single day.

The local task force said the city’s number of recoveries from COVID-19 also climbed to 5,060 after two more virus-infected patients were cleared Monday from the disease.

The city has registered 5,428 COVID-19 cases since last year and 308 deaths.

The city will begin vaccinating against COVID-19 minors 12 to 17 years old and have comorbidities starting on Thursday.

They will be inoculated at the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, according to the city health office.
