CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay has assumed command of the Philippine National Police in Central Luzon this Monday.

He replaced Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon who was assigned to the Civil Security Group.

Before being assigned to the Central Luzon police, Baccay headed the Eastern Police District.

The changes of command in the provinces and regions are happening ahead of the May 9, 2022 synchronized national and local elections.
