128 more die of COVID-19 in PH; death toll at 43,172
MANILA, Philippines — Another 128 patients succumbed to COVID-19 complications on Sunday, said the Department of Health (DOH), increasing the death toll to 43,172.
The total deaths currently account for 1.55 percent of the 2,787,276 confirmed infections of the virus in the country. It also make up 0.86 percent of the total deaths worldwide.
According to Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 tracker, global deaths currently stand at 4,995,525.
Total current active infections in the country currently sit at 45,233, while recoveries are at 2,698,871.
The current positivity rate of cases is currently at 7.2 percent, which is still above the World Health Organization’s standard of 5 percent or below to indicate controlled transmission of the virus.
