OLONGAPO CITY—At least 132, 522 residents in this city have already received either the first or second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said on Wednesday (Oct. 27).
In a statement, Paulino said 57, 761, or 44 percent of the figure had been fully vaccinated, including those who received the single-dose Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson.
Paulino has encouraged all eligible residents, especially those 18 years old and above, to go to the Rizal Triangle covered court to get the shots.
He said those who have yet to register online could do so while at the vaccine site.
The city aims to inoculate 70 percent or 182,000 of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against the viral disease.
As of Tuesday, the city’s active COVID-19 cases further dropped to 113 after recording only three new infections and five more recoveries.
