CABARROGUIS, Quirino––A 50-year-old woman and her 20-year-old son died Wednesday, Oct. 27, after the motorcycle carrying them collided with a wayward fuel truck in Saguday town, Quirino province, police said.

Capt. Alex Orbillo, Saguday police chief, identified the fatalities as Dionisia and Joel Tagarino, of Barangay San Isidro in Saguday. Both suffered severe head injuries that caused their instant deaths.

Investigators said the truck driven by Rhonel Tampos, 35, was heading to Santiago City when it hit the motorcycle coming from an intersection in Barangay La Paz.

Tampos surrendered to police and face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in a double homicide and physical injuries.
