Olongapo posts zero new COVID-19 cases for 2 straight days

OLONGAPO CITY—For two days in a row, the city has recorded zero new COVID-19 cases, which have been on a downward trend this month, local data showed on Monday, Oct. 25.

According to the local COVID-19 task force, it was also the third time this month that the city posted zero cases.

The task force said 15 more virus-infected patients have recovered from the viral disease, which further brought down the city’s active cases to 116.

Since Oct. 17, the city has been registering active infections below the 200-mark.

Its recoveries have already climbed to 4,994 out of 5,412 infections recorded since last year, reflecting a 92-percent recovery rate.

But two more fatalities were also logged on Tuesday, raising to 302 the city’s COVID-19 death toll.

The latest to succumb to the disease were a 52-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman. INQ
