Post office burglarized

At least P6,000 was taken from the Cebu City post office by still-unidentified thieves.

Security guards at the Cebu City Hall who were on duty on Monday night will be called for an investigation to explain why the burglary occurred despite the tight security in the area.

The post office is at the ground floor of the City Hall’s legislative building.

Cebu City Hall postmaster Septa Espina said staff members were shocked when they discovered yesterday morning that the lock and the handle of the cabinet where the money was kept was destroyed.

Septa said there were no signs that the door of the office was forced open.

One or more thieves may have entered the office through the sliding window at the receiving area, where guards are assigned to patrol, said Septa.
