LEGAZPI CITY––Two suspected drug pushers were killed Monday night in a buy-bust operation in Nabua town in Camarines Sur province, police said Tuesday.
Major Divino John Pelea, Nabua police chief, said Romeo Sotto and Rustom Ocampo sold suspected shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover agent in Barangay San Vicente at 10:38 p.m.
Pelea said when the suspects sensed that they were transacting with police officers, they drew their guns and fired at the police officers. The police retaliated, hitting the two suspects.
They were taken to a hospital but were declared dead at 11:38 p.m.
Sotto was previously arrested for illegal drugs while Ocampo was a drug surrenderer, Pelea added.
Police recovered a 9mm pistol, a 9mm revolver, and shabu worth P300,000.
