SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Eight new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Monday, Oct. 25, in this province, data from the provincial health office showed.

It was the lowest daily COVID-19 tally in Zambales in the last four months, the Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit tracker shows.

The province’s active cases further dropped on Monday to 268 after recording 48 more recoveries.

Three of the 13 towns in the province have registered new infections on the same day. These are Candelaria (5), Botolan (2) and Iba (1).

Since last year, Zambales has registered 9,597 COVID-19 cases, with 9,096 recoveries. It reflected a 95-percent recovery rate.

But 10 new COVID-19-related deaths were recorded Monday, raising to 533 the province’s death toll.
