Palace hails Carlos Yulo’s victory at world championships

MANILA, Philippines — The Palace on Monday hailed the gold medal win of Filipino athlete Carlos Yulo at the 2021 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at Kitakyushu City Gymnasium in Japan.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Yulo’s victory is proof of the skills of Filipino athletes.

“Binabati namin si Carlos Yulo sa kanyang nasungkit na gintong medalya sa men’s vault at silver medal sa parallel bars event sa 50th FIG  Artistics Gymnastics World Championships sa Japan. Congratulations, patunay ito ng galing ng ating atletang Pilipino,” Roque said.

House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco likewise congratulated Yulo for hoisting “the Philippine flag high” in the international stage.

“Huge congratulations to Carlos Edriel Yulo for his stunning performance at the 50th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, winning gold and silver medals in the men’s vault and parallel bars events, respectively,” Velasco said in a statement.

“Once again, you have hoisted the Philippine flag high. We are proud of you, Caloy. Mabuhay ang atletang Pinoy! (Long live Filipino athletes)” Velasco added.
