MANILA, Philippines — The number of areas under granular lockdown in Metro Manila has decreased from 102 last Thursday to 88, data from the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday showed.
Of the 88 areas, two are covered by the Northern Police District, 38 by the Eastern Police District, 29 by the Manila Police District, and 19 by the Quezon City Police District.
Sixty-three of the said areas are houses, 16 are residential buildings, and four are subdivisions or villages.
A total of 302 police personnel and 222 force multipliers are deployed in areas under granular lockdown, according to the PNP.
Metro Manila is currently under Alert Level 3 status until October 31.
The Department of Health (DOH) earlier said that if COVID-19 cases continue to decline, the capital region may be placed under the more relaxed Alert Level 2 in the coming weeks.
