Another rebel surrenders in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY—A 50-year-old former member of a communist group in Zambales has voluntarily surrendered to government authorities, police said on Thursday, Oct. 21.

In a report, the Police Regional Office 3 identified the man as “Ka Battery,” a farmer and a resident of Barangay Dolores in Cabangan town.

Last week, two members of rebel groups in this province also voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Zambales. They were identified as “Michael” and “Sherly.”

Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, PRO3 director, said former rebels who would turn themselves in would be eligible to avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
