COVID-19 recovery rate in Olongapo rises to all-time high at 91%

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in this city has climbed to 4,905, as 12 more residents were cleared of the viral disease, local data showed on Tuesday, October 19.
It reflected a 91-percent recovery rate, the city’s highest since the pandemic struck last year.
The city’s active infections stood at 186 as only six new cases were added to its data. It was the second straight day that its active COVID-19 cases fell below the 200-mark.
But four more patients had died of the disease, raising to 297 the city’s death toll on Tuesday.
Since last year, the city has already recorded 5,388 confirmed COVID-19 cases based on the tracker of the local task force.
According to health authorities, the decreasing number of new infections is already being felt in the city’s hospitals as more beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients have already been vacated.
