MANILA, Philippines — The government will soon be expanding its COVID-19 vaccination of the pediatric population to 13 more hospitals in Metro Manila, President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday.
Currently, eight hospitals in the National Capital Region are conducting COVID-19 vaccinations on 12- to 17-year-olds with comorbidities.
Duterte reported that as of Oct. 15, 1,100 minors have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We hope to expand this number, ang mga hospital, we will also welcome the arrival of additional vaccines in the coming days,” Duterte said in a taped public address aired last Tuesday night.
Duterte reported that 32% of the country’s target population for vaccination has already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, adding that 80% of the NCR population has completed the required doses of the vaccine.
