MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 211 more COVID-related deaths on Tuesday, which brought the country’s total coronavirus death count to 40,972.
The total deaths currently represent 1.50 percent of all the 2.73 million COVID-19 cases so far detected in the Philippines.
The DOH logged 154 additional fatalities on Thursday, 203 on Friday, 156 on Saturday, 95 on Sunday, and 86 deaths on Monday.
A total of 63,637 individuals still have COVID-19, according to DOH. Of this number, 4.8 percent have the severe form of the disease while two percent are considered critical cases that are at higher risk for death. Another 79 percent are mild, 5.2 percent are asymptomatic, and 8.97 percent are moderate cases.
According to DOH, 60 percent of ICU beds, 47 percent of isolation beds, 46 percent of ward beds, and 43 percent of ventilators nationwide are currently being utilized.
In Metro Manila, 54 percent of ICU beds, 40 percent of isolation beds, 41 percent of ward beds, and 38 percent of ventilators are currently being used.
