CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga—The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) on Tuesday confirmed the resignation of its president and chief executive officer Vivencio “Vince” Dizon but did not say the reason.
Aristotle Batuhan, a BCDA director, was appointed officer-in-charge.
The state-owned agency confirmed Dizon’s stepping down in a statement a day after Aileen Soza, BCDA executive vice president, disclosed it during a Senate finance committee hearing on the BCDA budget.
Dizon served the BCDA for five years, from Aug. 2016 to Oct. 15.
It said he would take a “more challenging role as Presidential Adviser for COVID-19 Response.”
Dizon did not reply to the Inquirer when asked about the reason for his resignation.
BCDA said under Dizon, the agency earned P48 billion in gross revenues and remitted P34.2 billion to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
It said the major infrastructure projects of the Duterte administration, such as the New Clark City Phase 1A and Clark International Airport New Passenger Terminal Building, were implemented under Dizon.
