COVID-19 kills 86 more in PH; death toll now at 40,761
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that 86 more Filipinos succumbed to COVID-19 complications, bringing the country’s death toll to 40,761.
The total deaths compose 1.49 percent of the 2,674,814 confirmed cases of the disease in the country. It also accounts for 0.83 percent of the total deaths worldwide.
According to Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 tracker, global deaths currently stand at 4,898,901.
Meanwhile, the total current active infections in the country currently sit at 98,894, while recoveries are at 2,536,260.
Article continues after this advertisementOf the active cases, 79.87 have mild symptoms, 8.42 percent moderate, 5.5 percent asymptomatic, 4.5 percent severe, and 1.9 percent critical.
