MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has received four reports of adverse reactions among children who received a COVID-19 vaccine.
During the DOH forum on Monday, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that a total of 1,509 children were vaccinated as of October 16, 8 p.m.
Vergeire said that of those inoculated, one child had high blood pressure which subsided after two hours.
Another minor had an allergic reaction which was eventually managed.
The other two children, meanwhile, had stress-related reactions.
Vergeire noted that these adverse events are not yet official as the DOH has to put it in the Food and Drug Administration’s system.
“Ito po ‘yung nakuha natin. (These are what we got). But, again, let me caution all of you. It’s not official yet. We still need to input that into the VigiFlow of the Food and Drug Administration,” Vergeire said.
The Philippines started its pilot run of the pediatric COVID-19 vaccination among minors with comorbidities on October 15.
