PH records 6,913 more COVID-19 cases
MANILA, Philippines — The country recorded another 6,913 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing its total active cases of the disease to 81,641.
The active cases make up three percent of the total 2,720,368 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country since the start of the pandemic. Of the active cases, 87.5 percent are mild or asymptomatic.
The DOH also recorded 10,237 additional recoveries, raising the number of patients who have recuperated to 2,598,052, or 95.5 percent of the tally.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 40,675 as the DOH logged 95 more deaths. The total fatalities represent 1.50 percent of all confirmed cases.
Some 12.5 percent of 53,669 people who were tested were found positive for coronavirus on Friday.
Article continues after this advertisementSixty-two percent of ICU beds, 47 percent of isolation and ward beds, and 46 percent of ventilators are currently being used.
The DOH removed from the total case count 54 duplicate entries, including 35 recoveries, and reclassified 31 recoveries as deaths after final validation.
Only three testing laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System, according to DOH. The said non-reporting laboratories contributed an average of 0.5 percent of samples tested and 0.5 percent of positive individuals in the last 14 days.
