MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives on Friday vowed to transmit the final version of the P5.024-trillion national budget before October 27.
Speaker Lord Allan Velasco said the printed copy of the final version of House Bill No. 10153, or the 2022 General Appropriations Bill, will be sent to the Senate on or before October 27 to give senators ample time to examine the House-approved spending plan for next year, and for both chambers of Congress to pass the budget bill before the end of 2021.
“We will work with our Senate counterparts to ensure that the key programs critical to our economic recovery and to our continuing battle against COVID-19 get priority funding in 2022,” Velasco said. —Julie M. Aurelio
