MANILA, Philippines — Cebu City and Cavite are now at low risk for COVID-19, independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research said Friday.
“Cebu City, Cavite are [at] low risk. NCR, Davao, Batangas, Bulacan, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal [are] at moderate risk,” OCTA Research’s Guido David said in a tweet, showing data on risk levels in the NCR Plus 8.

David said only an average of 34 new cases were recorded in Cebu City while an average of 429 cases were reported in Cavite from October 8 to 14.
He added that the average number of new cases from the same period was 1,820 in Metro Manila, 163 in Davao City, 202 in Batangas, 250 in Bulacan, 285 in Laguna, 181 in Pampanga, and 302 in Rizal.
Meanwhile, the reproduction number of COVID-19 is 0.46 in Cebu City, 0.56 in Cavite, 0.60 in Metro Manila, 0.62 in Davao City, 0.57 in Batangas, 0.56 in Bulacan, Cavite, and Pampanga, 0.55 in Laguna, and 0.60 in Rizal.
Reproduction number is the average number of individuals being infected by one positive patient.
The Department of Health earlier noted a decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the country following restrictions on movement of people in order to control the transmission driven by the Delta variant.
On Wednesday, David said the number of COVID-19 cases in the country could further drop to at least 3,000 to 4,000 infections daily by December, while Metro Manila could see 400 to 600 new daily cases.
The Philippines has 84,850 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday.
