6 killed in shootout with police in Antipolo
LUCENA CITY — Six suspected members of a robbery gang were killed in a shootout with policemen in Antipolo City in Rizal province early on Thursday.
The Calabarzon regional police said two motorcycle-riding suspects and four other gang members aboard a Kia Rio sedan fired at the policemen who were about to accost them at a gasoline station along the Marcos Highway in Barangay San Jose at 1:30 a.m.
The suspects sped away after the initial gunfire, prompting the police to give chase. They were later killed when they shot it out with cops after they lost control of their vehicles.
