SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––At least 87 more patients in this province recovered Wednesday from COVID-19, the latest data showed.
The new recoveries pushed to 8,511 the total number of people getting cleared of the viral disease in the province that recorded 9,306 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started last year. They reflect a 91.45-percent recovery rate.
On the same day, the province also recorded 32 new cases, bringing to 688 the number of active COVID-19 cases.
The province’s death toll related to the disease still stood at 462 since no new fatalities were recorded on Wednesday, keeping its mortality rate at 4.98 percent.
At least 175,470 or 42.48 percent of the province’s eligible population had been vaccinated against COVID-19, with 83,569 of them having been inoculated fully.
The province needs to vaccinate 413,000 or 70 percent of its 590,800 population to achieve herd immunity.
