Climate commission reconstitutes expert panel
The Climate Change Commission has reconstituted its National Panel of Technical Experts (NPTE) in a bid to show the government’s resolve to implement programs against climate change, said Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, the commission’s chair, on Wednesday. The new NPTE members are environmental planner Jihan Adil, agricultural engineer Nathaniel Alibuyog, chemical engineer Zenaida Andrade, marine biologist Wilfredo Campos, agricultural economist Gay Defiesta, public health expert Ramon Lorenzo Luis Guinto, community planner Eduardo Mangaoang, fisheries expert Jimmy Masagca, renowned physician and public health expert Susan Mercado, marine scientist Richard Muallil, climate specialist Emma Porio, disaster and risk specialist Patricia Ann Sanchez, geodetic engineer Merriam Santillan, fisheries expert Encarnacion Emilia Yap, sustainable business expert Maria Angela Zafra, and extreme weather specialist Doracie Nantes. —JHESSET O.
