MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Policemen on Tuesday, Oct. 12, arrested the primary suspect in the alleged rape and killing of a teenage girl in Mexico town in this province.
In a statement, the Central Luzon police identified the suspect as Edgar Torres, 36, who is also one of the most wanted persons of Mexico.
Torres was arrested in an operation after Judge Mary Ann Padron-Rivera of the San Fernando Regional Trial Court Branch 46 issued an arrest warrant against him for rape with homicide under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code. She recommended no bail.
The Central Luzon police said Torres is the primary suspect in the rape of a 16-year-old girl who went missing on March 1. Her half-naked body was found March 3 inside an abandoned house in Tangle village in Mexico.
