MANILA, Philippines — The entire Luzon and Western Visayas will experience cloudy skies and rainy weather on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, enhanced by severe tropical storm “Maring,” the state weather bureau said.
Now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the center of “Maring” is estimated to be at 765 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan, and is headed towards China, according to Pagasa.
“Itong southwest monsoon na pinapaibayo ni Bagyong Maring ay naapektuhan ang buong Luzon at Western Visayas, kaya sa araw na ito, makararanas ng pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon at Western Visayas,” Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in a public briefing.

Palawan and Occidental Mindoro will experience monsoon rains.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country is expected to have fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, gale warning remains in effect for the northern and western seaboards of Luzon due to habagat that is enhanced by “Maring,” according to Pagasa.
Pagasa said moderate to rough seas with 1.2 meters to 3 meters of waves will prevail over the remaining seaboards of Luzon, and western seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.
“These conditions are risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions,” Pagasa said in an advisory.
