MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City police operatives arrested Tuesday five suspected drug peddlers and confiscated from them around 70 grams of crystal meth or “shabu” with an estimated value of P476,000
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) office, the first anti-drug operation was conducted on Monday night in the city’s Barangay Greater Fairview where suspects Jomar Sameniano, 38, Alexander Dorado, 46, and Marrie Villanueva, 24, all residents of Caloocan City, were nabbed.
Around 20 grams of shabu approximately worth P136,000 were seized from the suspects, police said.
Early Tuesday, QCPD operatives again launched a buy-bust, this time in Barangay Masambong where two more suspects were arrested. Authorities identified the suspects as Manuel Fernandez, 42, and Randy Abellon, 32, both residents of Quezon City.
A concerned citizen informed a QCPD station about the illegal drug peddling activities of Fernandez in Barangay Masambong, prompting police to hatch a buy-bust operation.
The operation involved an undercover police officer who pretended to buy P4,500 worth of shabu from Fernandez and Abellon, who allegedly yielded 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 following the operation.
All suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to QCPD.
