Prices of diesel, gasoline continue uptrend

MANILA, Philippines — Fuel pump prices jumped for the seventh week straight, this time by P1.50 per liter for diesel and P1.30 per liter for gasoline as crude oil stayed above $80 per barrel. Caltex raised prices at 12:01 a.m. while Shell, Seaoil, PTT, and Phoenix followed at 6 a.m. Also, Shell, Caltex and Seaoil hiked prices of kerosene by P1.45 per liter. The seven-week rally added a total of P7.15 per liter on prices of diesel, P5.40 on gasoline, and P6.75 on kerosene. Dubai crude oil was pegged at $79.45 per barrel as of Oct. 7 from $72.61 per barrel a week earlier.
