MANILA, Philippines — Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police, warned all PNP personnel on Monday against posting political views on their private social media accounts. Eleazar reminded policemen of the PNP’s guidelines on the use of social media, violation of which would merit administrative sanctions. In a statement, Eleazar said PNP personnel must remain apolitical and should not campaign for or against any political aspirant in their personal social networking accounts. “I am reminding all police personnel to be mindful of what they post on their social networking accounts and refrain from showing support for or campaigning,” he said.
