Olongapo’s active COVID-19 cases on downtrend with fresh recoveries

The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city further dropped to 336 on Sunday as 21 new patients recovered from the viral disease, local data showed.

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city further dropped to 336 on Sunday as 21 new patients recovered from the viral disease, local data showed.

According to the tracker of the city’s COVID-19 task force, the figure was another all-time low in the last two months.

Only 10 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the city on the same day, which slightly raised to 5,314 its active infections.

For the fourth straight day, the city did not record any deaths related to COVID-19. Its death toll still stood at 272.

It was on Oct. 7 when the city’s active COVID-19 cases first went down to the 300-mark when it logged 398 active infections, the lowest in nearly two months.

Since last year, a total of 4,706 patients here have been cleared of the viral disease. It reflected an 88.5-percent recovery rate. INQ
