Liquor ban, class suspension enforced in Isabela, Cagayan due to ‘Maring’
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela––The government of Isabela province on Monday (Oct. 11) imposed a liquor ban as Typhoon “Maring” (international name: Kompasu) began to dump moderate rains.
Gov. Rodolfo Albano III said the ban includes selling, buying, and consuming liquors.
Albano also ordered a “no sailing, no fishing” policy in the coastal towns of Palanan, Maconacon, Divilacan, and Dinapigue.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was hoisted over northern Isabela, which include Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon, Ilagan City, Tumauini, Cabagan, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quirino, Gamu, Roxas, Mallig and Quezon.
Signal No. 1 was raised in other parts of Isabela.
In Cagayan, Gov. Manuel Mamba ordered the suspension of classes starting Monday at the pre-school, elementary, and secondary levels for public and private schools in the province.
The ban on liquor sales and sailing of sea transport is enforced in the province.
