LEGAZPI CITY – Three girls died after they were hit by a 10-wheeler truck in Placer, Masbate on Sunday afternoon.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol regional police spokesperson, identified the victims as Christy Franciso, 16; Jelian Tamayo, 13 and Ferdalyn Cañete, 10 — all residents of Barangay Matagangtang of the said town.
Calubaquib said the truck driver, Jomar Tanael, 30, lost control of the vehicle and swerved onto the road’s shoulder, hitting the victims at around 3:45 p.m.
The victims suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.
Tanael was arrested and is under police custody.
