MANILA, Philippines — The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo shrugged off the salvo of criticisms hurled by presidential aspirant Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

“Definitely, hindi maganda iyon (what he said isn’t nice) but that reflects more on him than on us,” Office of the Vice President spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said over One News on Friday night.

“Kung salita lang naman, maanghang man o hindi, sanay na kami diyan,” he added.

(Words are cheap, we are already used to explosive tirades against us.)

Moreno on Friday lambasted Robredo for preaching unity when she could not even unite the herself and the Liberal Party.

He also questioned Robredo’s goal of stopping the return of Marcoses as her reason for running.

Moving forward, Gutierrez said their camp is not minding such detractions, but instead focusing on their own campaign.

“Hindi iyan ang pinapansin namin ngayon,” he said.

(We don’t mind that now.)

“Naka-focus kami [We are focused] on doing our own thing, doing our own campaign, working with the people who have come out to support us because that is really what we really need to do now,” he added.
