OLONGAPO CITY—The local government on Friday (Oct. 8) launched its vaccination on wheels to inoculate senior citizens against COVID-19.
In a statement, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the mobile vaccine rollout will visit all villages in the city to speed up its mass inoculation program.
The first barangay to benefit from the project was Gordon Heights.
According to Paulino, the project is facilitated by the city health office.
So far, the city has already vaccinated 91,096 residents as of Friday. At least 30,870 of them were already fully vaccinated.
Olongapo needs to vaccinate 70 percent or 182,000 of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
