Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo drop to its lowest in 2 months

OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases in the city dropped to its lowest in nearly two months after 32 more patients have recovered from the viral disease, local health data showed on Thursday, Oct. 7.

According to the local task force, the city’s active COVID-19 cases went down to 398. It was the sixth straight day that the number of active infections exceeded the number of new cases.

It was on Aug. 19 when the city last logged active infections within the 300-mark. The succeeding days saw its active cases climb, peaking at  837 on Sept. 19.

Data also showed the city registered 15 new cases on Thursday with zero deaths.

Its death toll still stood at 271 while the total number of recoveries has already  reached 4,568 out of 5,237 cases since last year.
